Responsible Gambling Verification Program (RGV)
The RGV Program was created to help lotteries plan and implement effective responsible gambling policies in all aspects of their operations and to recognize those that do it well.
In 2015, NCPG partnered with the NASPL to create the RGV Program — the first national verification program of its kind. As a collaborative effort, the program has helped to establish higher standards for the implementation of responsible gambling principles.
In addition to helping lotteries promote responsible gambling, the RGV program is designed to educate lottery executives, employees and the public about the responsible gambling measures that are possible within lottery operations as well as the spectrum of problem gambling behavior and treatment. Recognizing that some lotteries have a larger staff or more experience in responsible gambling, the program offers three different levels and uses a process improvement model.
RGV Program Levels
Planning
For lotteries that want to establish a responsible gambling program but haven’t felt like they had the expertise to do so.
Implementation
For lotteries that have a responsible gambling program and are interested in strengthening these efforts.
Sustaining
For lotteries that have completed the Implementation level and want to make their programs even more effective
